Everleigh Origin and Meaning

The name Everleigh is a girl's name of English origin.

A trendy version of Everly that is more feminine and substantial thanks to its -'leigh' suffix. Ahead of the curve, hunky actor Cam Gigandet used it for his daughter in 2009, and it broke into the Top 1000 in 2013. Don't be surprised if it climbs even higher in coming years.

“Leigh” is the female version of “Lee.” Duh. This is common knowledge. Anyone who pronounces it “Lay,” needs to go back to 3rd grade.

My daughters anem is Everleigh. I don't know why everyone dislikes this spelling so much. I think it is beautiful!

What makes "leigh" feminine?

Nozomi Says:

I don't know why but It really annoys me to see the leigh suffix. I don't understand! Shouldn't it be pronouned like lay not lee? I'd stick to the ever so delightful Everly instead.

Remember when everybody thought the Bedazzler was classy? I don't. But my aunt had one. Some years ago, I came across a box of perfectly good jeans, dated but perfectly good. Covered. In rhinestones. In one or two cases, a few pairs sported mirrors.

Those frankensteined jeans were the Everleigh of their day.

I would prefer Beverly. I like the name Leigh for either gender or Lee, but this "-leigh" suffix trend baffles me.

We named our 2 month old daughter Everleigh and have gotten so many compliments on it. Everyone that hears it says "ohh that's so pretty!" We like this spelling better too.. (We thought Everly was too much like Beverly)

Stop ruining pretty names with this leigh mess!

Leigh is never a cute suffix. It just makes a simple name unneccessarily complicated. And Everly doesn't sound masculine at all.

Lotties_dad Says:

Don't listen to them. This is a cute, more feminine take of a masculine sounding surname. Go for it!
