Cute little name! Nice alternative to Daphne. Good way to honor Philadelphia if you're from there 😀

I love this name! As a stand alone or nickname. Easy to pronounce and just slightly unusual. I knew a girl named Delphi in school and she really fit the name well. So cute!

Why do so many names on this site have incorrect meanings? Delphi is related to the Greek delphinus for dolphin yes, but that word itself comes from δελφύς delphys, "womb"' - as Delphi was, in ancient Greece, considered to be the center of the world as it is said to be where Zeus found Gaia (personification of Mother Earth). The dolphin was named later.

I think it's a pretty nickname (for what, it's on the tip of my tongue, but I can't remember! Ugh.), but hard to pronounce for grade-school kids, and lots of misspellings.
