Cathleen/Kathleen is one of those names I can imagine on any age girl or woman. Kit is probably my favorite of the nickname options.

I do like Cathy, but agree about Catie. You can still spell Katie and Kate in the usual way, even if you spell Cathleen or Catherine with a C. Same goes for Kitty.

I love this name so much more when it is spelt this way. I first saw the spelling in "Gone With The Wind". It's one of the best names that I really associate with that novel, along with Tara.

Jinxgirl Says:

Cathleen is pretty and sweet, but I wouldn't want a Cathy and I don't like how Catie looks. Cat or Leena might be okay

Jo Jo Says:

It's amazing what one letter's difference can make...this version seems so much more youthful and fresh than its K counterpart.

Cathleen Calvert is a character in 'Gone With the Wind'

DrHenry Says:

Cathleen looks like Canteen to me. I also feel like it's at risk of being nicknamed to Cathy. It's unfortunate some annoying pathetic reality TV stars have cheapened K names to the point where most normal people want to avoid giving their child a Name with the same initial. even a legit one. But Kathleen still would get my vote over Cathleen.

Saffron_Rice Says:

I prefer Cathleen to Kathleen - looks younger and fresher. I love it as a middle name.
