Beatriz Alba Says:

This is my name, and is very common in Brasil where I come from (usually on the top 30). I pronounce it Bee-ah-TRIZ (the z in the end is a bit like a buzz, so is a very Bee-friendly name). I always liked my name, and the ambiguity of it's meaning. The most accepted theory is that Beatriz is a "bringer of happiness" or a "blessed", but there is a tiny change it comes from the word Viatrix, which is a female wanderer. So, if I decided to mix them all, I would be a blessed wanderer who brings happiness, and I think this is a lovely self-image to have.
