Araluen is not a widely used name here in Australia but I did work on an Araluen Street. It is also the name of a country town and the daughter of a famous Australian poet, Henry Kendall, who wrote a poem by that name after his infant daughter died.

I quite like the meaning of this name. The names Waterlily or Lotus themselves are too much for first names, but Araluen is lovely. Other names that mean lotus are Padma & Pema.
