Atagulkalu Origin and Meaning

The name Atagulkalu is a boy's name meaning "leaning wood".

Famously borne by Atagulkalu or Attakullakulla, a Cherokee leader known to the English as Little Carpenter. The English translation reflected both his given name and slight physique.

In the 18th century, Attakullakulla was one of a few Cherokee leaders to travel to England. He contributed to Cherokee-English diplomacy for the rest of his life.
