Hekla

This geographical name is in the Icelandic Top 20, inspired by a volcano in southern Iceland. The volcano was named after the Icelandic word for a hooded cloak, since the summit is often covered by clouds.

Hekla is still an active volcano, most recently erupting in 2000. In the Middle Ages it was referred to as the "Gateway to Hell"— the birds circling the volcano post-eruption were thought to be souls of the damned.
