Egyptian cat names are fitting for any of the Egyptian cat breeds, including Sphynx, Egyptian Mau, and Abyssinian kitties. The Ancient Egyptians worshipped cats, believing they were magical creatures, capable of bringing good luck to the people who housed them.
Egyptian cat names may take inspiration from Egyptian gods and goddesses, famous historical figures, Egyptian place names, or popular names in Egypt in modern times.
Egyptian god and goddess names include Osiris, Abunis, Khepri, and Isis. Famous Egyptian historical figures include queens Cleopatra and Nefertiti, or Pharaohs Ramses and Seti.
