What’s Your Personal Top 10?
Nameberry’s most popular baby names are a colorful mix of tried-and-true modern classics, like Oliver and Olivia; stylish vintage revivals, like August and Adelaide; and intriguing international imports, like Elio, Elodie and Eliana.
From Cordelia to Clementine, Callum to Caspian, our visitors are pros at uncovering under-the-radar gems which feel cool and quirky, but not crazy. But the thing we really love about the is how wonderfully wide-ranging the names under discussion always are!
And so, to today’s Question of the Week: we want to hear your personal Top 10 baby names for both boys and girls.
What’s your #1 name combo for a baby boy or girl, if you were to give birth tomorrow?
Do your tastes align with Nameberry’s most popular baby names, or do you have your own signature style?
What’s your favorite name which is missing from both theand the Top 1000 lists?
Share your greatest name loves with us in the comments below, or come and spread the love over on our and pages!

Boys (not in order as love them all)
I found it hard to choose. I have a massive list i love and i love 2 middle name combos so it would be a case of mix and matching.
And wether my husband agrees on these is another matter lol

Top ten male names (ask me next week and its likely changed a bit…and then the week after that…etc)
on February 26th, 2019 at 7:22 am
Hmmm mine are always changing but if we’re going for names I’d definitely use on a future child
on February 26th, 2019 at 8:21 am
Girls: Jane, Phoebe, Rosalind, Marian, Iris, Daphne, Rosemary, Irene, Leona, Eleanor, Kit
Boys: Gareth, Desmond, Rory, Frederick, Kit, Roger, Lewis, Patrick, Arthur, Keith
I have no clue what I’d name a baby in six months from now, let alone tomorrow! That’s why I spend so much time here!!
on February 26th, 2019 at 8:48 am
If I was landed with a baby tomorrow it’d be a choice between Cora Magdalene or Hugo Frederick, both long time loves.
As for my top tens, in no particular order;
Boys: Lorcan, Flynn, Hugo, Ralph, Sidney, Tristan, Killian, Dominic, Jago, Maxwell.
Girls: Maeva, Alma, Tilda, Cora, Stella, Margot, Lyra, Dinah, Liliana, Cecily.
on February 26th, 2019 at 8:53 am
My personal top ten (today, anyway!) are:
I am not yet pregnant, but my spouse and I have discussed names extensively, and if a baby landed on our doorstep tomorrow, they would be Evangeline Alabanza Lore or Judah Watson Lore. Other frontrunners for us are Penelope, Adelie, Xavier, and Atticus. It’s interesting how getting married and earnestly discussing future baby names has shifted my taste. If it weren’t for my wife’s taste, I think my top ten names would be much more obscure and much more gender-ambiguous.
on February 26th, 2019 at 9:05 am
My favorites are always changing; I tend to go through style phases and think in clouds so there’s almost always a little bit of very meta turmoil.
Girls: Maïa, Mazie, Pepper, Sage, Juniper, Thisbe, Quilla, Lavender, Rosemary, Wren (obviously I’ve got a thing for herbs and spices!)
Boys: Jonas, Zooey, Finn/Finley, Flynn, Rowan, Huckleberry, Roo, Alby, Hart, Holden
Depending on my mood, if tomorrow I woke up with a child, she’d be Maïa Francesca Bloom or Pepper Chloë if I’m feeling spicier; he’d be Jonas Huckleberry Hart or Zooey Hart. Next week, the whole list could turnover. Who knows? I certainly don’t!
on February 26th, 2019 at 9:22 am
These are the husband approved combinations. We’re currently expecting and have every intention of using our top choices for boy and girl. Most names are family names with a few names chosen for meaning mixed in. A few of the family names are reworked for the opposite gender. Leon was my great grandfathers middle name but we really like Leona on a girl.
There are so many more names that I like but are not husband approved. My favorite example is Mirabel. Growing up on a farm my husband and his brothers gave all of their goats names that ended in -bel. Tinkerbell, Anabel, and while they never used Mirabel the association is too strong for them to be used on anything other than a goat.
There are a few names listed below that aren’t on the US or Nameberry top 1000 but the one I like the best that is missing from both lists is my own! I was named after my great grandmothers, Andra Martin and Thelma Adalee. I’ve always enjoyed the ring of Andra Adalee and praised my mother for picking the combination. Andra is pronounced ANN-dra. I’ve repeated the five letter first and alliteration with the girls names again mixing both family names and ones chosen for meaning.
1. Mackenzie Steven
2. Callum Wayne
3. Myron Anthony
4. George Harlan
5. Duncan John
1. Elsie Emerella
2. Elena Emily
3. Leona Lauren
4. Celia Christine

on February 26th, 2019 at 9:44 am
Felix Ocean or Linus Apollo are names I’d use tomorrow if I could. I’m less decisive on the girl’s side–which is probably apparent by how much more diverse the girl’s list is, in general…
on February 26th, 2019 at 9:46 am
I should have added, I already used my favorite boys name and that is James Louis.
on February 26th, 2019 at 9:58 am

on February 26th, 2019 at 1:36 pm

on February 26th, 2019 at 1:45 pm
Like everyone else, it’s always changing. I think my tastes are slightly different from even most people on Name berry, but much more in line with other berries than with the top US 1000.
8. Vladimir “Lad”
1. Ouida (I really the more formal Louisa too, but would stick with Ouida)
6. Wilma (I love Wilhelmina too)
8. Okra (not something that would pass my husband)
I should point out I already used Rudolf, so that rules out other favourites : Rupert, Reuben and Judith.

I love names like:
I love double names for girls, but if the baby I’m currently carrying is a girl, I don’t think my partner will go for it.
But the names I love:
Emma (LOVE this name but feel too many other little girls are named Emma so I couldn’t use it)
Last time I was preg, was planning to use Kendra if it was a girl.
on March 3rd, 2019 at 10:12 pm
A girl would be Camille Marie. I really don’t know for a boy but most likely Malcolm Michael.
on March 5th, 2019 at 2:57 am
I’m surprised some of these names aren’t more popular. I would pick Rosamund Alma for a girl and Adlai Franklin for a boy.
