Just tweaked the language in there to clarify... thanks for the input.

BirdyC Says:

This entry is incorrect. Spurgeon has been around as a first name for ages. It did not enter the lexicon as a boy's first name with the naming of the Duggar baby. That's ridiculous. About 25 years ago, I knew a man named "Spurgeon." And it's a first name in the area of Pennsylvania in which I live. And has been for far longer than this article indicates.

Kibby Says:

This sounds like something you could test positive for....

Silverlight Says:

I keep thinking surgeon, sturgeon, and splurge. A surgeon splurging on a sturgeon...? I mean, come on. This is not a name.

It's gross. It's like sturgeon splooge.

awheezie Says:

... Sounds like sperm and virgin .. Sadly, a horrifically gross sounding name, imo

Moony Says:

Now that it's been used by the Duggars, whatever credibility this name bore is now long gone. Which is a shame.

otheralix Says:

I defend a lot of names but this...there's no defending this.

Argh-Oh-Not Says:

When you just can't decide between "spurt" and "sturgeon."

JǫrðViðJǫrð Says:

Its hideous. I loathe the name. And the nickname is Quincy. Where did they get Quincy from Spurgeon? He'll forever be called surgeon or Sturgeon. Poor child. I hope I never hear his name. It's the worst of all celebrity baby's names. Please guys, change his name while it's not too late. What on earth is wrong with Charles anyway? Media whores...

Becky Says:

I have trouble not saying sturgeon! Really, I like this couple but the poor child would have been better off being called Baby Seewald for the rest of his life! The least they could have done was reverse the names. Elliot Spurgeon Seewald would give the kid a fighting chance to not be ridiculed for the rest of his life!

alyssum Says:

I tried, but all I can see is the "purge" in the middle. Ick.

Naughty Housewife Says:

Jessa Duggar just named her first born son Spurgeon

Zelliew Says:

I think of a surgeon splurping on something. It's all a bit spurious really.
