I think this name is beautiful and unusual, and flows so well off the tongue, and makes one think of sunshine... However, she'd definitely be called "Lana," and while I know that's a semi-popular name right now, I don't prefer it. For some reason, it makes me think of a call girl. Not sure why...

Yara Says:

Pretty but I'm not a fan of the nickname "Lana".

I first heard this name on an episode of Catfish and absolutely love it with the nickname Lana (which is another favorite, but it's becoming too popular for my likings). Too bad my husband says it reminds him of "Salon" and there's also now a retirement home near me with this name :(

New name crush for me, but the hubby dislikes it. He likes Lana and Alana though so I'm thinking he doesn't like the So- beginning :(

Lana is my preference
