I actually like this name! Clearly not a popular opinion though. I find it sweet, strong and distinctive. Lots of names sound like other words or phrases (Mary, marry; Emma, I'm a; Iona, I own a; Ryder, ride her) - I actually think this is one of the less problematic ones. Rumi would be a sweet nickname.

Margaret Rumer Godden was given Rumer as a middle name because it was a family surname. IMO this is no weirder than Piper or Harper, which are both really popular.
