My name is Monique. I haven’t always loved it but have always received compliments from people, young and old. Now I love my unique, yet classically French name. It’s rare to meet another Monique, so when I do we have kind of an instant connection. Plus, the nn potential is HUGE - Mo, Momo, Nique/Niqi/Nikki, Moey (like Zoey), Moni (like Joni), Miki (meekee), Mon. My most common nickname is Mosie (pronounced like Rosie with an M). I’m an American and my Australian boyfriend calls me Minnie/Mini (Australians pronounce it “Minique”) which I love. I’d recommend it over its other language spellings, personally, but find Monica/Monika to be a beautiful name as well.

My name is monique. I like it. I do know a few others but it's not common. I get the nn meek, neek and sometimes mon. Generally people know how to spell and pronounce it and I do get compliments (usually from older people). I get asked sometimes if I am French which I'm not. I like that it is memorable
