Gender: Male Meaning of Kaiser: "Emperor" Origin of Kaiser: German Kaiser's Popularity in 2018: #813

Kaiser Origin and Meaning

The name Kaiser is a boy's name of German, Bulgarian origin meaning "Emperor".

Kaiser, as in roll and Wilhelm, appeared for the first time on the US Top 1000 in 2017. It fits the two-syllable -er ending style that's all the rage, and it lends itself to the short form Kai. But we hope this Germanic version of what is essentially a title rather than a name doesn't keep rising on the charts.

Kaiser Wilhelm!!! Kind of a cool name but the history behind it ruins it in my opinion

By that logic naming a kid Josef, Heinrich, Alexander or Leon is bad

Yeah... that's the problem I saw when I saw this name. Not as bad as Hitler, but along the same lines...

My great-grandfather's name, but I definitely wouldn't use it nowadays.

Kaiser, phonetically, is exactly the proper Latin pronounciation of Caesar. Just a little side note.

Name for a German king / emperor. Maybe not the best name, but kudos to them.

Isn't this an elementary school?

I would never use it because of Kaiser Permanente but I'm actually happily surprised Jenelle didn't chose a tacky "creative" name. I kinda like Kaiser.

The German equivalent of an Emperor title (I think). Also if I know my World War I history (albeit very limited), this would probably not be the best thing to use on a child.

I don't like this name at all. I believed it was made up when I first heard, and couldn't believe it was real. Either way, it sounds like it belongs to someone whose destined to be an eternal frat boy.
