Pronounced like: "i see ya"?

why call it an alternative spelling when changing it would obviously change the pronouncing of the name. To me Isiah is beautiful but I pronounce it Eee-sigh-ah or IS-eye-ah. Kinda like the end of the pronounciation of Messiah.

Wow. Two years ago, I said stuff like "Ditto to the Max". I am cringing so hard right now.

this just does't make sense. The name is Isaiah so why take the A out of it? Why name your baby a typo.

DITTO TO THE MAX! Isiah would be eye-SY-ah, or maybe eye-SEE-ah

Even more non-intuitive than the original spelling :/

This spelling really bothers me too - it's as if the parents simply did not know how to spell the name properly. The poor parents look dumb and the poor kid has to correct everyone who tries to use the proper spelling for his name!

Not usually bothered by alternate spellings, but this actually changes the pronunciation of the name.
