Liza Smith is right, it's Eee-dah, Ay-Dah would look more like Aida (which isn't a bad name itself)

And Nameberry, there is no r in Eda. How does it sound like eater?

I think Eda would actually sound nice, it's similar to popular names like Eva, Eden and Ada, all which I like!

That's not even fair, the one sentence description. How in the world does it sound like eater? I pronounced it more like Ay-dah. Isn't there any way we could get that rude comment off?

I like that variation. Edda.

Similar to Edith, closely resembles Ada and Ida. It's a rather underused name. There, a one sentence, objective review Nameberry, sounds like somebody came across this name in a bad mood.

Never would I ever have though of eater. Sometimes nameberry is a little too critical, this sounds like a great name to me!

It doesn't sound anything like 'eater' - there's no 'r' in it. In addition, it has a wonderful connection with Norse mythology when spelled E-D-D-A; which is a compilation of Scandinavian myths, legends, and poems that was put together around the 12th century.
