I just finished reading Anne of Green gables. This is a gorgeous name!it's not a common occurrence that I see a name and instantly love it, but this is one of the few times that has happened. When I say it, it sounds a little bit like "Heavenly".

I really love the Avonlea spelling, but if it has more sentiment to do the "lee", go for it!

I don't see the point in butchering the spelling. It makes the same sound as Lee.

As an Anne fan as well, I think that changing Avonlea to Avonlee is perfectly fine. Personally, I prefer Avonlea, but Avonlee's pronunciation is clear.

I'm also a HUGE Anne fan and I don't see the problem with changing it to Avonlee. It's a nice way to include a special meaning from both you and your husband. Best of luck!

As a huge Anne fan, this is at the top of my list for middle name for a girl. Only thing is, my husband's middle name is Lee, so he wants to spell it Avonlee. I almost feel like I'm ruining the name in some way, if I agree to Avonlee. What do you guys think? Any other huge Anne fans??? This would mean a ton to me to use it, because Anne really got me through my teenage years.
