I love this name, i just adore it. It sounds really cool (I also like the "Ah-viv-ah" pronunciation). Shame its tied to all these companies

Seriously a cute name. I like the "ah-viv-ah" (as opposed to a nasal first a sound) pronunciation. Apparently it's an insurance company, but I've never heard of it, so it doesn't bother me. What DOES bother me is that it sounds pretty similar to "ivivva", a branch of the lululemon company that has become insanely popular among young girls.

danirose01 Says:

I've never heard of any of the companies or products that the other commenters are associating with this name. To me, Aviva is one of those names that I'm surprised to see is outside of the US top 1000, with all the Avas and Vivians running around!

Carolinekalmes Says:

:( too bad there are buses and companies named Aviva. Love the sound, meaning, and it's a palindrome!

Orchid_Lover Says:

I'm also a pharmacist but that association has never bothered me. Drug companies are constantly attempting to brand their products with appealing names. Azurette or Jolessa, anyone?

cabosanmucus Says:

I love the name Lotus but it's also the name of a computer system at my mom's job.... That won't stop me 😈

Sapphi19 Says:

This is a type of blood glucometer (the accu-chek Aviva plus) in the US. It is a nice name, but maybe steer clear if you have lots of friends or family in the medical profession. As a pharmacist, all I can think of when I hear this name is "diabetes." Lol.

tori101 Says:

I love Aviva but whenever I mention it to people they all say like the car insurance annoying

Kibby Says:

This is the name of an insurance company. (In Canada at least!)

Essa Says:

I think of buses. They're Arriva but still, too similar for me.

SeaZuno86 Says:

I love this as a middle name, pretty and a lovely meaning.

Orchid_Lover Says:

Ethnic? English-speaking countries use Hebrew names all the time.

Saffron_Rice Says:

A very beautiful name but perhaps too "ethnic" to be used generally.
