Solana

A bright and warm possibility for a summertime girl, Solana feels both soulful and fresh, distinctive and familiar. Originally adapted from the Spanish surname and Saint name, Solano, it entered the US Top 1000 for the first time in 2023.

Names with sunny meanings are red-hot at the moment, with Soleil, Sunny, and Sol amongst the most fashionable today and Spanish Solana — meaning "sunshine" — is no exception. It was one of the fastest rising names in 2024, climbing more than 230 places up the charts.

Solana Rowe is the birth name of the singer known as SZA, who may have helped shine a light on this sunny moniker.

Pronounced so-LAH-nuh.

As of October 2026, Solana ranked #495 in US births in 2025 SSA, Nameberry popularity #475.
