'Guilty Pleasure' Names

These are the names which I feel like it is a guilty pleasure to love. I know I will probably never use them, but love them anyway. A lot of them are common western names because my family is Indian and so I suppose I should give my child an Indian name (after I would have married an Indian person, of course). But a girl can dream. And, yes, some of them are really crazy names I wouldn't use for my child if I was of *any* ethnicity, but still... they're beautiful.

As flower names become more unique, so can gem names move beyond Ruby and Pearl to names like Topaz, Sapphire, and Peridot. Amethyst, the purple birthstone for February, has never been in the Top 1000, but could have some appeal, joining similarly-hued Violet and Lilac, all of which make great <a href="https://nameberry.com//list/614/names-for-aquarius-babies">names for Aquarius babies</a> or <a href="https://list/630/70-lovely-names-for-february-babies">names for February babies</a>.
 In the M.M. Kaye children's novel The Ordinary Princess, the protagonist is Princess Amethyst Alexandra Augusta Araminta Adelaide Aurelia Anne of Phantasmorani — Amy for short — who has been given the "gift" of ordinariness.

Zephyrus was the Greek god of the west wind, and all names associated with him have a pleasantly gentle, breezy feel. With its cool Z initial and similarity in sound to Stephie and Serafina, Zephyr has been rising up the US charts in recent years as a unisex name.
 Given to 42 girls and 188 boys in a recent year, this is an impressive rise, given that the name was rarely used before the 2000s. For every girl called Zephyr, there are at least five boys but this could even out in the future. 
 Frequently seen in computer and video games thanks to its mystical quality, Zephyr is also a character in the children's book Silverwing, and in the Babar books--as a monkey. It features in the TV series My Little Pony, the short animated film How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming, and in the manga series, One Piece.
