Boys With Cute or Girly Nicknames

Like the title suggests, it's a list of boy's names that come with a cute and/or feminine nickname. Some names on the list are girl's names that I think could work for a boy, but most are male or unisex.
  1. Meredith
    • Origin:

      Welsh
    • Meaning:

      "great chief"
    • Description:

Meredith has been considered primarily a girl's name since the fifties, before which it was more commonly used for boys. Comic actor Jay Mohr recently named his son Meredith, which might help it swing back into the blue column. The traditional Welsh pronunciation puts the stress on the middle syllable, making Red a cool nickname possibility.
  2. Mangold
    • Penrose
      • Origin:

Cornish and Welsh place name and surname
      • Meaning:

        "top of the heath"
      • Description:

Penrose – an ancient locational surname derived from several villages in Cornwall, Wales, and the Welsh border country of England – might work as a first name, although the "Rose" syllable might lead the uninitiated to assume it's a female name. As a middle name, however, it would make for a surprising and distinguished choice. A male Penrose could be called Pen/Penn, Ross or Roe for short.
    • Rosemond/-t
      • Valentine
        • Origin:

          Latin
        • Meaning:

          "strength, health"
        • Description:

Valentine is an attractive Shakespearean name with romantic associations, but those very ties to the saint and the sentimental holiday have sent it into a decline, one which we think may be about to turn around.
      • Winslowe
        • Origin:

          Variation of Winslow
      • Winsome
