About Nausica
The Catalan and Italian form of Nausicaa, a daughter of Alcinous in Greek mythology who helps Odysseus on his journey home. In pop culture, it is the name of the eponymous heroine in the 1984 Japanese anime movie Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.
This form may be preferred for both its sleekness and for its pronunciation, which takes it a step further away from nausea. However, this form has never appeared in the US stats, while Nausicaa has a handful of times since 2019.
Pronounced now-SEE-kuh.
