Malani

Girl names ending in lani are one of the hottest trends of recent years, thanks to the lilting and lyrical Hawaiian name Leilani. Leilani has inspired a number of offshoots, including Kehlani and Meilani.

The latter served as a jumping off point for Malani, which takes the sounds of Melanie and puts it to the cadence of Leilani.

Malani is also given to boys.

Pronounced muh-LAH-nee.

As of October 2026, Malani ranked #374 in US births in 2025 SSA, peaked at #331 in 2024.
