Kamp

Is this a German surname or is it a trendy spelling of the word name "Camp"? It could be either, or both, but in the former case, it means "field", while in the latter, it refers to a place of short-term accommodation (usually filled with tents) and to a deliberately theatrical and exaggerated style.

Unless the spelling is a family surname, we'd probably advise sticking to Camp if you really want to use it, given the possibility of negative associations (just try adding an -F to the end of this name).
