About Baui
A modern variation of the Norse Baugi, a figure, who, in some versions of mythology helps Odin obtain the mead of poetry from his brother, Suttungr. Ultimately, it comes from Baugr, meaning "ring-shaped" or "money". Used occasionally in Iceland, it was first added to the list of approved Icelandic names in 2016. BUUW-i or BOY-i are loose English translations of the pronunciation.
Pronounced BOW-ee.
