That is difficult to say. As a 21 year old woman with a masculine name myself, I can honestly say that I do not appreciate it, and while I don't hate my mother, I do feel a small amount of resentment for her not having chosen something more appropriately feminine. Still, not everyone's experiences are the same, but with Hooper being male, and with it being so close to the popular boy name Cooper, I would tred with caution when it comes to using this name for a girl.
