Nameberry needs to keep it's rude opinions to itself. If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.

I do wonder where the 'Name Info' came from. Bingen is the first thing that comes to mind.

This is my middle name, so quite upset to see such a rude description!

I find this enchanting! Hilde is such a pretty name/nickname, and honestly Rosamund is pretty similar - you've the soft, lovely Rosa/Hilde and then the heavier and noble mund/garde. At least, I think so :)

So, yes, I approve very much of Hildegarde ;)

A GP of mine. But seriously, NB, no need to be so harsh.

I'm tired of German names being associated with flat-bottomed, fat women of a certain age. What about Hildegarde von Bingen? (sorry if I misspelled it) From what I hear, she kicked ass.

I like it! :) And also super feminine version: Hildegarda :) Hilda as a nickname - so sweet! Wouldn't use it myself because I have tons of other names I love but I think it's a great name.

I might very well be the only person on Earth who actually likes this name. It probably isn't in my top 30 but I honestly don't dislike it.
