"Was the latter part of your comment in reference to selecting a name meaning 'bean grower' for a child or was it regarding the well documented link between beans and flatulence?" Yes. This is the dumbest joke and would be a stupid reason to not give a kid a name they like because it means 'Bean Farmer' and it's relation to gas. That's some mental gymnastics.

While I don't have the actual stats, it does happen on occasion and not just with obvious names like the ones Puritans used to use. Was the latter part of your comment in reference to selecting a name meaning 'bean grower' for a child or was it regarding the well documented link between beans and flatulence?

How often do you meet someone and know immediately what their name means? So stupid.

I met a Fabienne recently, and just fell in love with this name. When I think of Fabienne, I now think of the real life person who is gorgeous, sophisticated and very personable, all great associations to have. Plus the spelling and pronunciation of this name, with the -enne ending, is so chic and stunning.

I think this name is stunning in every possible way. It *sounds* lush and a touch exotic. Its the meaning that would keep me from using it as first. As a side note, Fabian was high on my list for a boy when I was expecting, as was Cameron. Its too bad their meanings are less than desirable lol. :)

Maybe it's just me, but these names that mean "bean farmer" like Fabienne and Fabian seem to have certain gas related implications.
