Not sure, but isn't "white breast" symbolic of a pure heart in mythology? Just think of Bronwen as meaning "pure heart", which is lovely.

When I first saw this name, I did not like it. Now after seeing it, I do like the name. The meaning, not so much!

I absolutely LOVE Welsh names and this one is close to the top of my girl's list. I love the name on its own but it offers great nickname options like Wendy and Wenny!

I know someone named Bronwen nn Windy. The only awkward thing about this name is that when everyone is looking up the meaning of their name (and believe me, everyone does this eventually in elementary school), your child Bronwen will discover her name means "white breast." Not that there's anything wrong with that. Love the name, but I'm not too thrilled about the meaning.
