Nameberry's opinion on some names are kind of rude. I don't think they should have an opinion on what you decide to name your kid. Not everyone likes the same style of names... maybe this has a special meaning to a family or what to use it as a middle name or something.

Babe Says:

First of all, Babe is a real name. Ahah that's my name I am male though. There's no confusion because hopefully people can come up with better love names than babe and if it's someone you don't know who calls you babe chances are they're calling you cute. It's creative and one of a kind. Think Babe Ruth the baseball player, or Babe Paley the socialite. It's a generation of Blu, and Apple as names and yes Babe is a name as well.

Lol. Um there could be some confusion here. What if they weren't sure if they were calling them Babe like their name or "babe" as in bf/gf?

I can just pictures this in school. A boy asks a girl named Babe, "Hey Babe, can I borrow a pencil?" *laughter ensues*

Nice nickname, but you really shouldn't name your child this. Especially since most people use this when talking to their significant other
