Ailany

Fun, bright, and melodic, Ailany is a modern Hispanic name with multicultural influences. It broke into the US top 1000 for the first time in 2023 and by 2024, it had risen over 750 places to sit just outside the Top 100. In 2025, it ranked at #14 when it was given to 7136 babies: 4530 more than the year prior.

A variation of Ailani, or perhaps Alani, it could be considered a Hispanic name with Hawaiian influence, giving it the meanings "high chief" or "orange tree". Alternatively, it may be a form of Ailyn or Aylín, Spanish forms of either Irish Aileen or Turkish Aylin, associating it with light and the moon.

Alternative spellings Ailani and Aylani have also been on the rise, and together, the three names were given to 9986 babies in a recent year. Viewed collectively, they feel like a Top 10 name, slotting into eighth place.

International like Sofia and Eliana with the flow and style of Kehlani and Leilani, its 2024 popularity likely introduced it to a wider audience, which likely has helped it rise up the charts.

Pronounced ay-LAH-nee.

As of October 2026, Ailany ranked #14 in US births in 2025 SSA, Nameberry popularity #128.
