Baby Veggie

Possible names for our baby on the way- from two crunchy grounded creative greenie soon-to-be parents who seem to like vintage, quirky, and cultural names that have significant meanings.

Begonia is a pretty flower named for French administrator and amateur horticulturalist Michel Bégon, who was an avid naturalist but also a proponent of slavery. A rare floral choice which has never really caught on as a baby name, Begonia would certainly stand out from the Lilys and Roses.

Feliz is a feminine name with Spanish and Portuguese origins, directly meaning "happy" or "fortunate." Simple yet profound, this name bestows an inherently positive quality upon its bearer. While more commonly recognized as the Spanish word for "happy" (as in "Feliz Navidad"), it has been used as a personal name in Spanish-speaking countries and among families with Hispanic heritage. The name has a bright, cheerful sound that naturally evokes feelings of joy. Though relatively uncommon as a first name in English-speaking countries, Feliz offers a meaningful choice for parents seeking a name that embodies positivity and good fortune while honoring Latin linguistic roots.

Feliz

More unusual than Forest or Forrest, Field is a nature name that is simple, evocative, and fresh--sort of the male equivalent of Meadow.
Field and Fields are both relatively common surnames, noted bearers including department store owner Marshall Field, poet Eugene Field (Wynken, Blynken and Nod) and actress Sally. Those with the plural include W.C. Fields, cookie company founder Debbi, and entertainers Gracie and Kim Fields.
Fielding is a very usable extension.
