Trevonn is a masculine name that appears to be a modern variation of Trevor, which has Welsh origins meaning 'large settlement' or 'prudent.' The doubled 'n' ending gives Trevonn a contemporary feel while maintaining connections to the more traditional Trevor. This spelling variation emerged as part of the trend toward creating distinctive versions of classic names, particularly in American naming practices since the 1990s. While standard Trevor has enjoyed consistent popularity, Trevonn remains relatively rare, appealing to parents seeking familiar sounds with unique presentation. The name combines traditional roots with modern styling, creating a balance between recognition and individuality.
