About Salaar
Likely inspired by the 2023 Indian action movie, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, Salaar more than doubled in use in the US between 2023 and 2024. Given to 50 babies in a recent count, the name is the alias of the central character, played by actor Prabhas.
An alternative spelling of Salar, a Persian and Arabic name meaning "leader, commander, rule", Salaar has a powerful air and a fresh, cool sound.
Pronounced suh-LAHR.
As of October 2026, Salaar ranked #3118 for boys in US births in 2025 SSA, peaked at #2653 for boys in 2024.
