Jaylene

Jaylene is one of those modern creations that could be seen as an attempt to be trendy yet retro at the same time. Part Jaylee, part Arlene, Jaylene could be an honor for a Jane or a James, a Helene, or a Darlene.

While Jaylene has technically been used since the '40s, it really caught on in the '90s. It was in the Top 1000 consistently from 2002 until 2018, but it has declined in use since then, as has sister name Jayleen.

For something truly retro, Janie, Jolene, Justine, Geraldine, or Janine might appeal as names with a similar sound. Jaylani, Aylin, Abilene, and Lakelynn are similar rising stars.

Jaylene is also given to boys.

Pronounced jay-LEEN.

As of October 2026, Jaylene ranked #1362 in US births in 2025 SSA, peaked at #636 in 2011.
