Delcie

Delcie is a feminine name with vintage charm, likely originating as a diminutive form of names containing 'del' like Adela or Cordelia. It may also be related to the Latin 'dulcis' meaning 'sweet' or 'gentle.' Popular in the early 20th century, particularly in southern United States, Delcie has a delicate, old-fashioned quality that echoes a bygone era. The name experienced modest popularity in the 1900s-1920s but has since become quite rare, making it an uncommon choice for modern parents. With its soft sounds and nostalgic feel, Delcie might appeal to those seeking a distinctive vintage name with a sweet, southern quality. The name carries connotations of sweetness and gentility.

Pronounced DEL-see.

As of October 2026, Delcie ranked #12224 in US births in 2025 SSA, peaked at #852 in 1891.
