An Ancient Egyptian name, made by combining the Amon, the Egyptian god of creativity, air, and fertility, with the element htp meaning "satisfaction". It was the name of a number of pharaohs, notably Amenhotep the Magnificent who ruled during a period of splendor, creativity, and success. His tomb is the largest in the West Valley of the Kings.
