About Wilbert
Wilbert is one of the new old grandpa names marching -- shuffling? -- back into style, taking the place of names like Gus and Max which now sound totally baby-friendly. Wilbert and cousin Wilbur could take a little longer.
Eighteen baby boys were named Wilbert in the US last year.
Wilbert is also given to girls.
Pronounced WIL-burt.
As of October 2026, Wilbert ranked #8747 for girls in US births in 1974 and #5031 for boys in US births in 2025 SSA, peaked at #2695 for girls in 1927 and #160 for boys in 1920.
