Brittani is a feminine variant of the name Brittany, which is derived from the name of the historical region in northwest France. This modern spelling variation emerged in the late 20th century when parents sought more distinctive ways to spell popular names. Brittani peaked in popularity in the United States during the 1980s and 1990s, reflecting the broader trend of names ending with 'i' rather than 'y' or 'ie'. The name evokes qualities of strength and vivacity, and many Brittanis may find connections to Celtic heritage through the name's origins.
