Alishah is a feminine name with multicultural origins, blending elements from Arabic, Persian, and South Asian naming traditions. The first element "Ali" has roots in Arabic, meaning "elevated" or "high," while "shah" derives from Persian, meaning "king" or "ruler." Together, the name suggests nobility and elevation. Alishah emerged primarily in the late 20th century, particularly in Muslim communities and among those seeking names with international appeal. The name remains relatively uncommon in Western countries, offering bearers a sense of distinctiveness while still being melodic and approachable in pronunciation. Its flowing three-syllable structure and exotic feel make it appealing to parents seeking a name that crosses cultural boundaries while maintaining a feminine, dignified quality.

Allysson is a feminine variation of Allison, which ultimately derives from the medieval Norman-French name Alice, meaning 'noble' or 'of nobility.' This contemporary spelling features the distinctive double 's' and 'y' combination, giving it a modern flair while maintaining the classic sound. While less common than Allison or Alyson, Allysson offers parents a unique alternative with the same melodic quality. The name saw modest usage in North America during the late 20th and early 21st centuries as parents sought increasingly distinctive spellings for traditional names. Allysson carries the same friendly, approachable qualities associated with its root name while standing out in classroom and professional settings.

In Greek mythology, Amalthea is the name of a goat (or, sometimes, a goat-keeping nymph) who nursed the infant Zeus and protected him from his murderous father, Cronus. Thanks to the goat’s protection and nourishment, Zeus grew up to overthrow Cronus.
The constellation Capra (meaning "she-goat") is believed to represent Amalthea, and one of Jupiter’s moons also bears her name.

In Peter S. Beagle’s fantasy novel The Last Unicorn, Amalthea is the name of the protagonist (the
unicorn) in her human form. The character was played in the 1982 animated film adaptation by Mia
Farrow.
