Three Syllable Names for Girls

This surname is quite rare in the United States these days. However, during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Jakube was introduced into American and Canadian society as the last name of a number of predominantly Jewish immigrants. These new entrants represented multiple nationalities, hailing from Poland, Czechoslovakia, Russia, and Germany, to name a few.
As a given name, Jakube has had very little usage. Nonetheless, it could make for a meaningful honor name for those with immigrant ancestors.

Pamala is a feminine name representing an alternative spelling of Pamela, which originated in the 16th century through Sir Philip Sidney's pastoral poem 'Arcadia.' The name is believed to be derived from Greek elements meaning 'all honey' or 'all sweetness.' This variant spelling emerged during the mid-20th century when Pamela reached peak popularity, likely chosen by parents seeking a slightly more distinctive version of the common name. A variation of Serapion, itself derived from Serapis, the name of a Greco-Egyptian god, the result of fusing the sacred bull Apis with Osiris, the god of fertility, agriculture, and the dead. Likely from the Egyptian asar, it could be interpreted as meaning "mighty" or "eye".

Saint Serapia was a 2nd-Century Roman saint and martyr, who fled persecution during the rule of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. She entered into the service of a wealthy widow called Sabina, converted her mistress to Christianity and then spent her days in devotion and charity work. When Serapia later refused to worship the Roman gods, she was given to two men to be defiled as punishment. The men fell unconscious however, allowing her to escape, only to be accused of witchcraft and beheaded.

Also appearing as Seraphia, Serafia, and Seraphima, Serapia may additionally refer to a Roman festival, celebrating the God Serapis.
