Shohei Origin and Meaning

The name Shohei is a boy's name of Japanese origin meaning "respect; soaring peace".

Notably borne by baseball star Shohei Ohtani, Shohei can also be transcribed as Shōhei or Shouhei. As with many Japanese names, the meaning varies depending on what kanji combinations are used, but "soaring peace" or "gliding evenly" are those used by the baseball player. "Respect" and "prosperity" are other options.
