Lavinie is a feminine name that appears to be a French or variant form of Lavinia. The classical name Lavinia comes from Roman mythology—she was the daughter of Latinus and the wife of Aeneas in Virgil's epic poem "The Aeneid." The name has aristocratic associations and a delicate, vintage quality. This particular spelling variation with the -ie ending softens the name further, giving it a slightly more diminutive or affectionate feeling. Lavinie remains quite rare in English-speaking countries, making it an distinctive choice that still carries historical weight. The name suggests refinement and classical education while maintaining a feminine, melodic quality. Its rarity makes it appealing for parents seeking something uncommon yet rooted in tradition.
