Do you Love Longer Names? With a European or Mythical feel then I think you might like these names!!

The Shakespearean character Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream is King of the Fairies, but the name, with its bold 'O' beginning has plenty of strength alongside its magical qualities.
Oberon was also seen as a fairy king in old German legend, in French heroic song, a Ben Jonson masque, and several operas. And an Oberon appeared in Disney's animated film "Gargoyles."
The name itself likely comes from the (usually) identically pronounced Auberon, a pet form of Auberi, the Old French form of Alberich, meaning "elf ruler" or "noble bear" depending on how you interpret the elements.

Sleek, sharp, and soulful, Isolde is the German form of Iseult, the fabled lover of Tristan in the Arthurian romances. First appearing in the 12th-century, the name was fairly popular in the form of Iseult, Yseut, Yseult, and Ysolt, however, it wasn't until the 19th-century that this form began to catch on, after the composer Richard Wagner used it for his 1865 opera (and for his own daughter!)

Seen as a symbol of undying love, Isolde was an Irish princess who accidentally drinks a love potion and falls in love with the nephew of the king she was betrothed to. The story ends in tragedy, but with Tristan, Romeo, and Juliet all familiar choices, this connection doesn't need to hold you back.

The exact etymology of the name is unknown but one suggestion is that it comes from Germanic elements to mean "ice ruler" or "ice battle" giving it a strong, wintery feel. Alternatively, it may have Brythonic origins, in which case it could mean "she who is gazed upon."

More likely to be used in the Netherlands or in Germany than in the US, it could appeal more widely as an intriguing alternative to Isabel, Iris, Ines, and Imogene. Given to 15 American girls in a recent year, it comes with user-friendly nicknames Izzy and Sol, though Iso is the one used in Marilyn French's novel The Women's Room.

Variations of Isolde include Iseult, Isolt, Isoud, Isolda, Izolda, Isotta, and Yseult.

This off-the-beaten-track choice of name was given to about 20 little boys in the US last year, double the number as were called Archimedes a decade ago. We recommend it to more parents, especially those with a penchant for all things ancient or mathematical.

And you can always call him the down-to-earth Archie.

Archimedes

Short form Lance has had an independent life of his own.

You might think Artemisia is the feminine form of the name, but in fact the original Artemis is feminine too, the name of the Greek mythological goddess of the moon. Artemisia Gentileschi was an esteemed Italian Baroque painter, unusual in an era when not many women were acknowledged. Artemisia is also a genus of plants which include sagebrush and tarragon.

Some sources say the meaning relates to the cassia berry or tree, and may be "cassia juice," making this a botanical as well as a mythological name.

Cressida is a golden, mythological, and Shakespearean name, much better known in Britain than it is in the US. Given to just 11 American girls in a recent year — though still the highest number on record — it shares the cool golden meaning of Aurelia, Orla, and Goldie, and offers cute Cassie- alternative nickname Cressie, along with Ida and Sid too.

Ultimately derived from the Greek name Chryses, first via its patronymic Chryseis, then through Criseida, the Italian author Giovanni Boccaccio's spin on it, Cressida is the form that finally appears in Shakespeare's Cressida and Troilus. While she doesn't have the best of literary reputations — in the works by Boccaccio, Shakespeare and Chaucer, she is faithless to her Trojan lover Troilus and breaks his heart — the name remains a fresh, crisp, and arty feeling option today.
In Suzanne Collins's The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Cressida is a film director character; while in the "real world", Cressida Cowell is the author of the popular novel series How to Train Your Dragon and Cressida Bonas is an actress and model.

Hypatia, an ancient Greek name, has a distinguished namesake: Hypatia of Alexandria was an early philosopher and scholar of mathematics and astronomy. Fittingly, the name derives from the Greek hypatos meaning "highest, supreme", giving it a lofty and powerful feel.
Hypatia's name has been claimed by second-wave feminists, and used as the name of the academic publication "Hypatia: A Journal of Feminist Philosophy". She also featured in Judy Chicago's installation "The Dinner Party", a triangular table with 39 place settings for mythical and historically important women.

The name (and philosopher) also features in the 1853 novel Hypatia by Charles Kingsley and in the 2009 movie Agora, in which Hypatia is played by Rachel Weisz. Additionally, the name has been notably borne by 19th century peace activist Hypatia Bradlaugh Bonner, and more recently by the character of Hypatia Vex in Cassandra Clare's popular series, The Shadowhunters.
