Amiracle is a contemporary feminine name that emerged from English-speaking countries, particularly in American naming trends. As its spelling suggests, it combines the prefix 'a' with 'miracle', creating a name that literally evokes the concept of being a miracle. This meaning-rich name likely appeals to parents who view their child as a blessing or miraculous gift. Derived from the Old English dagung, the name peaked at peaked in 1971 in the US, when it was given to more than 14,000 girls and sat within the Top 20. While currently unconventional, be warned: Jupiter is on the fast track toward mainstream popularity, as quirky mythological names rise. Ed Sheeran chose Jupiter for his little girl in 2022, and Ashley Tisdale named her daughter Jupiter Iris in 2021 — both of which are likely to give it even more of a boost.

Astoria

A sweet, uplifting and still fairly uncommon modern virtue name. Its single syllable makes it especially good as a middle name, but it would also make a big impact in the first spot; in fact, nearly 90 girls in the US were called Bliss in a recent year.

Similar in feel to more popular word names like Dream, Blessing, and Heaven, and to more classic virtues like Blythe, Felicity, and Joy, it may appeal to those who want to celebrate the more blissful side of parenthood and the joy they hope their child will bring and experience.

Believe it or not, this was a fairly common appellation in early New England, interpreted not in the sexual sense, but more in terms of desiring salvation. In modern times, the French name Desiree, pronounced dehz-ih-ray, would be more acceptable.
