Sherryl is a feminine name that developed as a variant spelling of Cheryl, which originated as an Anglicized form of the French name Cherie, meaning 'dear one' or 'beloved.' The distinctive spelling with 'Sh' instead of 'Ch' emerged in the mid-20th century when creative spellings became fashionable. Sherryl peaked in popularity during the 1940s-1960s in the United States alongside similar names like Sheryl and Cheryl. The name has a vintage charm that recalls the mid-century era. Though less common today than in previous generations, Sherryl maintains an elegant, feminine quality. The uncommon spelling gives this classic name a distinctive touch while preserving its familiar pronunciation and warm meaning.

Shannelle is a feminine name that appears to be a modern variant of names like Chanel or Shannon. It likely emerged in the late 20th century as parents sought more distinctive versions of popular names. The name Shannon has Irish origins meaning 'wise river,' while the similar-sounding Chanel draws associations with the famous French fashion house. Shannelle combines melodic qualities with the fashionable '-elle' ending that became popular in American naming trends. While never reaching mainstream popularity, Shannelle appeals to parents seeking a contemporary, somewhat uncommon name with an elegant sound and stylish associations.

A surname-y feeling diminutive name that had its (quiet) moment back in the 1920s and 30s, Sydell even made the Top 1000 in 1929 when 55 girls were given the name. It is likely derived from Sarah (via Sadie), Siegfriede (meaning "victorious peace"), or Sydney ("St Denis").

Alternative theories are it was inspired by the surnames Sidell ("wide recess; wide valley") and Seidel (either from Siegfried or a German word meaning "tankard"). Also spelled as Sydelle and Sydel, it last appeared in the US charts back in the 1980s.

The added 'le' ending feminizes the traditionally masculine name while maintaining its biblical connections. Most common in French-speaking regions, Samuelle offers an elegant alternative to Samantha for parents seeking a name with similar sounds but more distinctive character. The name carries a sophisticated European flair while remaining relatively straightforward to pronounce. While uncommon in English-speaking countries, it appeals to parents looking for a name with international appeal and traditional roots. Simonette is a feminine name that serves as a diminutive or elaboration of Simone, the feminine form of Simon. It has French influences, with the charming '-ette' suffix adding a touch of delicacy and elegance. The base name Simon derives from the Hebrew name Shimon, meaning 'one who hears' or 'he has heard.' While Sixtine is a name with ancient roots that's popular in modern-day France, it's hard to imagine it gaining hold in English-speaking lands, given its similarity to the number sixteen and its even-more-problematic similarity to the word "sexting." You wouldn't do that to your daughter.

This elegant name combines the melodic quality of French naming traditions with a distinctly feminine ending. Translating to "star", but used to refer to the leading female artist in a cabaret show, for French speakers, this would be like naming your child "Showgirl".

Alternatively however, it could be a form of Sanskrit Veda, combined with suffix, -ette, giving it the meaning "knowledge". Additionally, it was historically used in the military for a sentinel (often on horseback), stationed to watch for enemies. In this case, it links back to the Italian vedere meaning "to see, view".
