Rarely heard in the US, Auberon has a gentle autumnal feel rare in a male name. A Shakespeare-adjacent choice, Auberon started out as as a pet form of Auberi, the French form of German Alberich.

Meaning "elf ruler" or "noble bear", depending on how you interpret the different elements, Auberon appeared as the name of a fairy king in the 13th-century epic poem Huon de Bordeaux. The poem was then translated into English in the 1540s, meaning it could be from this that Shakespeare got the name for Oberon, in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
The most famous bearer of the name is British journalist and critic Auberon Waugh (whose grandfather was Aubrey and whose nickname was Bron), of the literary Waugh clan.
The Oberon spelling is another recommended option.

Kienan is a masculine name with Irish and Gaelic roots, representing a modern variation of the traditional Irish name Keenan (Cianán). The original name derives from 'cian' meaning 'ancient' or 'enduring,' combined with a diminutive suffix, essentially meaning 'little ancient one.' This distinctive spelling with 'ie' gives the name a contemporary feel while maintaining its Celtic heritage. Relatively uncommon, Kienan began gaining modest recognition in English-speaking countries during the 1990s. The name carries connotations of strength, endurance, and timelessness. Parents might be drawn to Kienan for its Irish cultural connections, distinctive spelling, and melodic sound that balances traditional roots with modern appeal.

Desmund is an alternative spelling of the more common Desmond, a masculine name with Irish origins. Derived from the Gaelic elements 'deas' (south) and 'mumhan' (Munster), it literally means 'man from South Munster,' referring to a region in Ireland. The variant spelling with 'u' instead of 'o' gives the name a slightly different visual appearance while maintaining the same pronunciation. Historically, Desmond was both a place name and the title of the Earl of Desmond in Irish nobility. The name gained international popularity in the 20th century, partially inspired by notable figures like Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Though less common than the traditional spelling, Desmund offers a subtle twist on a name associated with dignity, peace, and Irish heritage.
