Also transcribed as Janar, this Kazakh has two possible meanings: "fire, inflame, combustible" from the elements janu and -ar and "eyes" or "sight" from janar. A Top 50 choice in Kazakhstan throughout the 90s, it peaked in 1991 when it reached #14. The name is notably borne by musician Zhanar Dugalova.
