Tissaia

Tissaia de Vries is a sorceress character on the Netflix series The Witcher. The origins of this created name are uncertain, but a quick search will pull up many theories, from a variation of Tess, Taisia, or Tasia, or spawned from the Latin word "titulus" (we're not sure if we buy that one).

Tissaia was given to five baby girls in 2022, when it debuted on the American charts. With a romantic, feminine sound and multitude of nickname possibilities — Tia, Taia, Tiss! — we could see Tissaia charging ahead.

Pronounced tis-AH-yah.

As of October 2026, Tissaia ranked #11840 for girls in US births in 2025 SSA, peaked at #10239 for girls in 2023.
