Sephiroth

Sephiroth is a villain in the Final Fantasy universe who recently inspired seven sets of parents to use his name for their sons.

In Hebrew, the word sephiroth — typically spelled sefirot — means "emanations" and refers to the 10 attributes in Kabbalah. These are often depicted in the Tree of Life. The name Sephiroth bears visual resemblance to the Hebrew word seraph, or "angel." In Final Fantasy, Sephiroth is a one-winged angel.

Pronounced suh-FIR-oth.

As of October 2026, Sephiroth ranked #13575 in US births in 2025 SSA, peaked at #7006 in 2015.
